Abstract

The most common reported skin disorder worldwide is fungal skin infections. About 25% of the world’s population is suffering from this. Fungi may cause various dermatological conditions like fungal infection of the toes (athlete’s foot). Due to this, the infected skin becomes irritated, red, swollen, cracked or inflamed; when the condition gets worse small blister may appear. When it burst the infection can spread to other parts of the body. Butenafine Hydrochloride is a Benzylamine Antifungal that is used to treat various types of fungal infections. The main aim of the present research was to develop crystal Gel of Butenafine Hydrochloride for the treatment of Superficial Mycosis because topical route for treating fungal infections. Seven formulations were designed for the development of Crystal get in which B3 formulation was found stable and efficient for use. Histopathological studies of skin permeation were performed on excised rat skin which shows the developed formulation is safe for skin use. The formulation was also found stable after 90 days of accelerated study.
